Traumatic brain injuries (TBI’s) vary drastically from case to case depending on the mechanism of injury and the severity of the injury. Unlike strokes that tend to affect one particular area of the brain, traumatic brain injuries tend to have more widespread impact on the brain. In addition, due to the sudden and dramatic change in a person’s life, there may be new mood symptoms that further impact a person’s ability to function in their life. Our comprehensive evaluations are able to specifically identify what cognitive changes may exist as a direct result of the TBI and what changes may be secondary due to an increase in mood symptoms. Based on these evaluations, we can then give very specific recommendations with regards to treatment as well as recommendations with regards to school or work accommodations in order to help individuals achieve their maximal potential.
