It has long been understood that cognitive functions, like memory, tend to decline with age. What is often unclear, though, is how much of a change is “normal” aging and what cognitive changes may reflect a more serious process. In addition, other factors, such as mood symptoms may sometimes look like cognitive changes. We are able to do comprehensive testing that is able to help identify what changes may be due to true brain changes and what changes may be due to other factors. We can then make specific recommendations about how to best preserve cognitive functioning over time, ensure safety and maximize daily functioning.
